Union Station Transit Center

Improving Downtown Denver transit

Five Points to Civic Center

Central Corridor Extension: Finish adding stations at 33rd & Downing and 35th & Downing. This would connect 30th & Downing (D line) to 38th & Blake (A line).

Five Points Coordination Plan has some good ideas about street cars.

Why not just add a spur that runs North/South on Broadway and Lincoln to Civic Center instead of adding a new transport vehicle? I’m all for adding streetcars, but why not just add spurs to some stops to save money?

Light rail stops for a North/South line at 19th & Broadway/19th & Lincoln, 17th & Broadway/17th & Lincoln, 16th & Broadway/ 16th & Lincoln, and Civic Center Station. The new line would be called the I line. It would run from 38th & Blake to Civic Center Station.

Colfax Avenue

There is an East/West stop on the D, F, H lines at Colfax at Auraria and there will be a North/South stop at Colfax & I-225. You could run a rail line down East Colfax and have a spur that runs North on Colorado Blvd that can reach City Park, Denver Zoo, and Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

This Beyond FasTracks has a great ideas about what to do for the future of Denver transit.

Alternative D makes the most sense long-term

Instead of doing road repair, wouldn’t it be easier to install light rail or steetcars and make it as easy as possible to transport around Denver? Buses can only last so long before repair. It would be easier on the streets to have rail and the infrastructure would be great long-term.

In the end, it would be great for Denver to have an accessible public transportation system like Berlin or Vienna. As Denver continues to grow, I expect these rail projects look better as time goes on and as the price of gas gets more expensive.
