Getting souvenirs after the trip

This might not be the best protocol for people who want to experience a trip. But, I think that writing down the places where you were at and getting souvenirs afterwards is just as good. I would’ve been hauling around an extra 20-40 lbs in my backpack of unnecessary stuff.

New Amsterdam

There will be a new gold rush on January 1, 2014.

Marijuana/cannabis will be legal to anyone over the age of 21, like alcohol. Colorado residents can grow up to 6 plants (3 can be flowering) on January 1.

New Amsterdam is the unofficial nickname of Colorado. Even though marijuana/cannabis is illegal in Netherlands to anyone who’s not a resident.

It will also be legal in Washington state as well.  Both of those states will boom with tourists from around the world. It’s not just the MJ industry itself, but industries involved in travel will feel the boom.

Honest travel tips

Perhaps the most obvious travel tip is to pay attention.

1. Know what the currency looks like where you’re traveling.  You don’t want to get any fake notes/currency. Also, knowing the exchange rates, so you don’t get scammed or ripped off. Writing down the currency note numbers is a great option for those who don’t have camera/cameraphones. Count your money every morning and night.

2. Keep calm and pay attention and look and see. Perhaps the least used trick for survival. Scout out the location where you are headed via online/guidebook. Know best route and alternate options in case anything happens. You could get ripped off in the small hamlet as well as the bustling city.

3. For the adult travelers, know your limits to alcohol. Lonely travelers know this trick too well.  Don’t want to get scammed in the club/ bar/pub or by the “black widow”.

4. Appearance can be vital for lonely travelers. Don’t shave for a few weeks. You won’t be hassled as much, because you look homeless/local.  Missing a day of laundry is not the end of the world.

5. Always be respectful. Treat others as you would treat yourself. This could not be said enough. Honesty goes a long ways.
